Your front door gets more attention than almost any other part of your home. It's the first thing guests see, the first thing you see when you pull into the driveway. When the paint starts to look dull or worn, it pulls down the whole look of the house - even if everything else is in great shape.
Here's what we were working with on this one: a solid craftsman-style entry that just needed the right color and a clean, careful application to bring it back to life. We went with a deep red that works really well against the neutral siding and dark trim. Bold enough to stand out, but still classic. The kind of color that makes a house feel like a home.
The touch-ups we added to the porch columns and surrounding trim were just as important as the door itself. Those details matter. A freshly painted door surrounded by scuffed or faded trim doesn't do the job. Everything has to come together. We masked off the windows and protected the surrounding surfaces before touching anything - that's just standard practice for us on every exterior painting job.
We also worked from both sides of the door. Getting the edges and the lower panels right takes patience. You can't rush that part. Drop cloths down, hardware carefully worked around, and every panel section brushed with intention. That's how you get a finish that looks professional instead of painted-over.
The end result is an entry that feels sharp and well cared for. Sometimes one focused exterior painting job on a single element - done right - does more for curb appeal than a full repaint.
